Innocence by thenumber42 Innocence by thenumber42
That thing which he can never have, which his brother has in abundance...

This is why he hates him so.

---

(Mmkay there's a lot of reasons why Raistlin hates Caramon. I just thought this would be an interesting angle to take.)

Good gravy I took forever with this one. Started it early this year, I believe! Hovered about on my harddrive for months. Much frustration. Still a bit frustrated. But I was determined to finish the thing tonight. AND I DID

Second in what I like to call my "Raistlin Nouveau" series. For some reason, Dragonlance and Alphonse Mucha make a good blend, at least in my mind.

Caramon's hand was supposed to reference [link] , but now it looks kind of dumb. *sigh* Oh well, at least his hair is shiny! The best warriors shampoo with Pantene Pro-V!

Raistlin and Caramon are © Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

This eerily looks like a foreshadowing of the cover for Dragons of Hourglass mage, which I haven't yet read.

Hmm...
Raist's face is a bit....pointy? Yeah, pointy, kinda elvish looking, but not too bad.
I like Caramon's hand. At first, I thought it was just clutched in pain. It also gives a very good sense of depth to the picture.

Interesting portrayal of them. Rather unique version compared to what's floating out there. ^.^

i think that it's not caramon as he is that raistlin hates but his own sense of guilt being hidden deep inside him ) raistlin is extremely intelligent but unable to deal with self-deception. all his story is a story of self-deception

and the picture is rather impressive )

I wonder... This pic would be made all the better if Caramon's last words were "Look Raist...bunnies..."
This is wicked. I love it!

This picture amuses me.
There's blood.
Does Caramon die because if so that would amuse me as well.
My favorite character is Raistlin as for the rest they can all die.

Can you give me a link so i can read it? I just thought you drew a sadistic pictuer i didn't know it went with a fan fiction.
I also wrote a fan fiction though i an hesitent to post it because it follows almost in exact detail the storyline the author wrote and knowing my luck they would sue me.

It's not a fanfiction. It actually happens later on in one of the trilogies.

And yeah, this is just a sadistic picture :XD: Just Raistlin picking on his brother.

I'm confused...

This picture is not based on a fanfiction.
This picture is inspired by the Dragonlance series, but is not a specific scene from the book.
This picture is just my interpretation of the twin's relationship.
The title of this picture is "Innocence."

Hope that helps :)

ok sorry
you said that it was inspired by one of the dragonlance books but which one?
I didn't mean to confuse you just to understand

The Legends series, mostly, since Raistlin is wearing the black robes then.

Ooooh, beautiful...

Although Raistlin seems to be not so much "golden-skinned" in this picture as "flourescent/curry yellow-skinned". I love it.

Firstly, the Mucha reference is MADE OF WIN :D

You integrated the style smoothly into your own and it works well. The colours are so rich and earthy, which seems to suit the subject matter wonderfully. My favorite part is definitely the contrasting facial expressions, the piercing eyes are amazing. The lower fellow's hand maybe looks a tiny bit odd at the thumb, but the rest of the hand is well formed. The hands holding the hourglass and clawing the face are both excellent.

The chrome shading is also quite cool and I love the little details like the chainmail. I agree with the comments about this potential making a kickass book cover! Bravo! :)

Egads! I can see why this would take you so long! Dearie, it's high enough quality to be in the comics they're producing these days.

I love the direct-ness of Raistlin's gaze. It's odd how such a simple thing can be so powerful. *shudder*

I really like Caramon's hand and the background circle. I agree third time over that this, indeed, would rock as a bookcover.

His neck? 0.o I don't remember anything I did on that...

I read it too! How'd you like it? I don't remember much apart from draconians becoming actual characters and more Raisty Caramon goodness. Oh, and Riverwind being cool.

I need to read the Highlord Skies...

mmhmm, I need to read the Highlord Skies too. Well, Caramon's neck is all cool and shadowy and um... necklike. When I draw necks they tend to look like popsicle sticks trying vainly to hold up the heads.
I did like the character development with the draconians. And there's nothing better than Raisty Caramon goodness! Except maybe Tasslehoff goodness.

I have to work really hard at drawing a good neck. Most of the time they're about as thick as ribbons.

Lighting, remember that! The head sticks out over the neck, casting a shadow and making it necklike!

Tasslehoff goodness mm. Read the book The Companions, it's actually fairly well-written and Tasslehoff gets turned evil! And hiccups. However, I'm somewhat relieved that he finally died. I'm liking Nightshade from the Dark Disciple books though.

Rachel, I absolutely love this. There is a conflict between dark and light, innocence and a tortured existence.

I agree that this would make for a splendid book cover.
